Finally the dreams of many Royal Enfield lovers seems to be coming close to them, with the auto giant finally launching its much awaited Cafe Racer - 'The Continental GT' in the UK. The bike looks gorgeous and with its launch in the UK we just cant wait to get our hands on the beauty.
The cafe racers, as the Royal Enfield believes, were famous in the mid-1970's, where riders continued to modify standard production motorcycles into so-called "café racers" by simply equipping them with clubman bars and a small fairing around the headlight with a motive of touching a 100 Mph between cafes in short street races.
The launch was done in typical Royal Enfield fashion, with focus on customer interaction and engagement as a center of its proceedings. On the launch event, 43 riders rode out on the RE Continental GT's from Ace Cafe in London to Brighton. The ride ended at Brookland's Motorsport museum in Weybridge, Surrey.
The bike was portrayed as a no nonsense bike with a feel that would appeal to bike enthusiasts and would deeply engross them in an experience that not many bikes offers today. In short we can expect a truly magnificent and unadulterated riding experience.
The bike can also be marked as a bringer of change, as the maker has finally switched over to a stiffer new double cradle chassis and not to forget the 41mm front forks as well as the twin gas-charged Paioli shocks. To make things more irresistible, the beast comes equipped with Pirelli Sport Demons as well. The braking department is handled by Brembo.
Mr. Siddhartha Lal, MD & CEO of Eicher Motors Ltd, also announced that the Continental GT is their lightest, fastest and most-powerful bike yet.
Well, with the bike finally amongst us, we cant wait to get our hands on it and we are sure our readers feel the same too.
Stay tuned for more on this beautiful piece of motorcycling art from Royal Enfield.
